Massaging a Star

Do you all recognize this guy? That's right, it is Bruce Willis. I was lucky enough to give him a massage!! Not just once, but twice!! He was in El Paso, Tx. doing a movie and had pulled some muscles and wanted a massage. The owner of the spa that I did some work with got a call - they needed a therapist to show up to a hotel to give a massage to someone connected to the filming. I volunteered to go, the hotel was close to my parents house, they had The Baby, so I had to be on that side of town anyway. I figured it would be a director or set person, but not Bruce Willis! Some other therapist had gotten calls, but so far, no one had worked with a star. I remember knocking on the door, wondering who would open it. When it turned out to be Mr. Willis, I about fell out. I am sure my mouth was hanging open. I went in, set up my table and began my work. I kept telling myself, he is just a regular guy, he is just a regular guy. I gave him a 2 hour massage and went back the next day to give him another 2 hour massage. He turned out to be a really nice guy. Once I quit being star struck, I relaxed and we had a good conversation. He complimented me on not being nervous and said he wished he would have had me as a therapist when he first arrived. During his massage, the phone rang and he asked if I would get it - it was Demi Moore. She was calling him to say goodnight. He spoke to his girls and sang to the littlest one (she was about the same age as The Baby). This all happened a couple of weeks before Christmas and I was very happy to receive a $300.00 tip on the last day.

Well, that is my claim to fame. I am now off to more mundane things like cleaning the house. It is raining today so I will be in my sewing room. Hope to have some photos of what I am working on.

Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Cool! I imagine it would be hard to be famous in some ways, and you doing your best to be calm was a blessing for him.

How exciting for you. I've never met anyone famous.

This is just another small part of the tapestry of what I am coming to realise is a pretty marvellous and varied life you've led Cynthia.
