Staying Positive
I am working really hard to stay positive. It is an uphill challenge right now. Oh nothing horribly wrong is going on, just those little things that add up until you want to scream!
I am close to screaming!!
First off, good news. I have my etsy shop open. I don't know if you noticed or not, but I have a tab that will take you straight to my shop. I know most of you are sewers and could make these doll clothes, but perhaps you know someone who doesn't sew or who wouldn't want to work with small patterns. I would appreciate your looking at the shop and passing the information on to anyone you can think of. Thanks so much. You all are great!
Now to something that may make me scream!
As you know, The Baby just went back to school for her Senior year. I am so happy she will graduate soon and I know she will work hard at any job she gets. Here is what is making me crazy. Her tuition went up over $5000.00!!! Part of that is for classes, part for food and part for room. The Baby is a vegetarian and has had to supplement her diet with food she has to purchase on her own. They do not cook for vegetarians. We were promised there would always be a good meal for her every night! The second thing is where she lives. The school built a new 5 million dollar dorm. The Baby has elected to stay in an older apartment building because it has a full kitchen and she can cook for herself (remember, they don't feed her properly) She is a resident assistant, which means her room is paid for and in return she agrees to be on duty and make sure all hell doesn't break out. This is a good thing, but now the apartments where she lives are infested with roaches, her internet is no where to be seen, and she is expected to put in more hours and walk across the campus at 3:00 a.m. to pull rounds! Who makes a young, pretty woman walk alone at that time of the morning?!?!?
I have never been a helicopter mom, but I can promise you this. I am so close to becoming one. I am not a happy camper at this moment.
Here is a little thing that is currently driving me crazy. I am trying to find new blogging friends and build viewership of both of my blogs. I spend a lot of time visiting and commenting and few if any ever respond. I am beginning to think I should just give up!
Oh well, I am sure all will work out. I say my affirmations and try to keep upbeat!
Sorry for going on, but thanks for listening. Tomorrow will be better. I promise. I am off to get some sewing done, that will make me happy!

First off - congrats on the Etsy shop!
Hope everything else turns around for you. It's all understandable why you want to scream. I would too. Hang in there!
Hi Cynthia,
The rise in prices is unreasonable. If only we could give ourselves raises so unabashedly!! I hear you, scream with you.
And with three girls, my copter blades would be whirring.
Congrats on the shop. I've been planning one for a while, it seems i'm always making gifts, not enough time to make things for the shop. I have a name and everything. Good luck with it, I'd love to know how you do.
I understand the frustration with responses on the blogs. I try to participate as you do. I know others have better visuals than I do, but I don't think the blog is totally lackluster. not sure how to get the ones who look to respond. Let me know if you find the answer.

Woo an Etsy shop!
That is a shocker! Over in the UK the tuition price for uni has tripled! I'm sure they just want a load of student s to end up in more debt than they could ever afford to pay back!
Blog responses are a tricky thing. Some people comment and others don't. Maybe try linking up with any linky parties going on each day =D
First of all, your etsy shop is very cool! I wish I were an American Girls doll so I could wear those pants with the hearts and peace signs. The effect wouldn't be as cute on a 50-something, I'm sure.
Gah, the hike in tuition...and roaches (yikes!)...that just bites. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Things have a way of looking better after a good rant and a good night's sleep.
Yes, congrats on your shop! I was so excited when I opened mine....but now that I haven't sold anything in months...well the excitement is wearing off. Lol. As for the comments thing...I feel ya! Same problem here. I've got a few steady commenters and a couple of occasional commenters...but for the most part people just pop by and look without saying a thing! :)
I hear you, it's understandable that you want to scream. I hope it all works out for The Baby, fingers crossed.
I think linking to other blogs is a great idea and commenting on other blogs does help. It always seems slow at first but I'm sure you will have more people interested in your blog as time goes by. You certainly post some great recipes and I love hearing about little snippets of what's going on with you.
Congratulations on the Etsy shop, my fingers are crossed for that too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I wanted to see what you were up to over at your blog. I would not like for my daughter to be in that same position. Walking across campus at 3 AM, no thank you! I am a helicopter mom so I would probably be there at 3AM to walk with her for at least the first week. Just kidding, I think!
I'm glad that your shop is back up!!!
I have a little sister who just moved into a new apartment because the last one she lived in at school had the same issues that your baby's did. :( you would think with all of the money spent on school that they would ensure that the houses and apartments are safe and clean! As far as her having to do rounds at 3:00am?!?! That would be a NO NO NO thing for me. I would tell them that there is a reason there are guy RA's and Girl RA's Get one of the guys to take the late shift and leave the earlier ones *daylight hours* for the girls.
I also wanted to let you know that Read, Rate & Review nominated you for a Versatile Award! Come on over and check it out!!!

Congratulations!!!! and I look forward to better days for you!
Remember that just because we aren't commenting, doesn't mean we aren't reading...or feeding our families with your recipes! I don't always think to comment. But, I do read every day. And, remember, blogging as about you putting stuff out there, not necessarily about people sending things back. That's one of the hardest things for me, especially on days that I get NO comments. Be well and don't stop. But, there's nothing wrong with a little scream once in a while. Lane
Those peeves regarding Baby's school would bother me, too!! Yikes....stuff I have to look forward to, eh?! I always believe the squeaky wheel gets the grease...I'd complain, loudly and often.....
Congrats on the Grand Opening of your Etsy store! A few things I can recommend is joining a Team or 2 on Etsy...they do help to promote eachother which is so nice. I might also suggest you enter a few Challenge or Blog Party linky deals...everyone tries to make sure they visit the other participants....and you usually do pick up a few new Friends to follow you each time :)
Hope things are getting better for you as the week progresses :P
I read your blog daily now that I found it! I'm totally new to the blog world but I think that's an awesome idea!! If you want I would be totally interested in trying it with you....
I don't think it hurts to let a little scream out now and again as a venting mechanism.
If I could hear you all the way over here then I would be worried about you, but I can't, so you will be ok in time!
