I am a Shut In

I am a shut in.

I am a recluse.

I am a hermit.

The first step to recovery it to admit it.

Please don't worry.  There is nothing wrong with me.  I am not depressed.  I am not mentally ill (well...).

I love my home and I have such long lists of things to accomplish, that I don't mind not leaving the house.  I am glad that I have the CSA to pickup on Wednesdays.  If it weren't for that, I would probably never leave!

The dog is out of food.  I need to go to the store and get her some.  I am wondering if I should fix her a steak instead.  I mean, I have to go out tomorrow, can't I just get it then?  Perhaps she would enjoy cat food!  I am sure I can dig in the refrigerator and find some leftovers she would enjoy.

I also need to get some paint for my studio.  I was going to go yesterday, but got busy with other things and didn't make it out of the house.  It will wait until tomorrow.

Speaking of my studio.  Big and I moved some furniture around and pulled some of it away from the walls in preparation for the big paint job.  This is what it looks like now!

I spent some time on Sunday replacing the electric outlets in the room.  All of them were worn out and things wouldn't stay plugged in!

I am always impressed with myself when I do "home" repairs!  Well, I am off to make some Pop Overs for my Tuesdays with Dorie post.  Look for it at Feeding Big.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

I often say that I am just one really bad smell away from being a hermit myself. Celebrate the hermitage. But, get the poor dog some dog food. Seriously, I have to force myself out sometimes. You can do it, you can do it. If you want to. Lane

Im a shocker for not leaving the house if I don’t have to . In fact between you and me, I often spend the entire weekend in my pyjamas not leaving the house. I’m often quite happy not talking to people for a couple of days. I think that’s because I spend my whole week doing nothing but interacting and talking to people.

I second what Lane said . You need to get dog food. But try the cat food first...he he

Welcome to the group.

I am the same I hate leaving the house without a good reason too. I can step into the garden if I need some air.
Maybe I do need to get out more....=D

I don't know if I intend to be a hermit, but I get out to buy food, and teach classes once a week, and on Sat. we usually garage sale in the morning. That's about it. I seriously used to be a "gypsy" as my mom would say. No more. Sometimes we get to church. I know if you'd told me years ago I'd be like this, I'd say--No Way. Who knew?

I'll admit it right along with you, but I don't want to recover. In fact, after having read "Quiet," I have learned it's a-okay to embrace your introverted nature. Still, we have to do those necessary things. Personally, I don't like grocery shopping and put it off as long as possible. Tomorrow is the day. Such drudge. But I do like to eat, so I go.

I don't blame you.....if I could, I'd live in PJ's and order take out...and just stay home all day everyday.

Look at you weilding a screwdriver with such determination! Good for you!

I really wish I could spend a few days shut in without any other commitments. I've got used to have a day or two a week to myself for sewing but the last few months have been hectic and I'm really feeling it.

enjoy while you can - you've still got use for contact!

I like being home too, but sometimes get sick of my self as company! Luckily there are always neighbors to talk to or my mom and dad to pop in on.

Did the dog like the steak? Our dog cleans up the cat's leftover food every night. I don't know if he prefers one cat food over any other, but he always cleans up every bite, even if the food in his own dish sits for two days!

Come do my outlets next? ;) I have the same problem!

My dogs ADORE cat food. Given the choice, they'd eat it daily.
