I picked The Baby up on Monday morning. I have so enjoyed having her home again. She will be here until mid-June and then she will be in El Paso, Texas, for an internship with the YWCA. She will return for two weeks and then will be off to Argentina and Peru for a semester. I plan on spending as much time with her as possible!
Today, we went to see the movie, "Bridesmaisd." It was so funny! We laughed the whole movie.
I didn't get much sewing done today, but I did get some pattern cutting done. I plan on making these two patterns.
This top is for Big. I have some cream colored crepe that I will use for it. I think the fabric should hang nice.
The top shown in this pattern will be for The Baby. I am will be using a dark blue fabric with polka dots. I thinking it will be a cute summer top.
The quilt in the photo above was made by the quilt guild I belong to. The intent was to raffle it off and donate the money to a half-way house that recently opened in the city. It was quilted with a long arm by a new quilter. The guild decided the quilting was not good and so it was decided to pick all of the stitches out. I spent a good part of the past few days picking out tiny, tiny stitches.
Hope you had a good weekend.

Wow! Where do I start... I love both of the tops. And I envy that you can sew clothes!
I'm also envious of the Baby for going to Argentina and Peru. Really anywhere outside of the USA. One day, I'll travel somewhere exotic...
And that quilt! It's gorgeous! So sad that the quilting didn't come out well, and that picking stitches out had to happen. How will it be re-quilted?
So good to see a post from you...
We want pics when their tops are done, please!
How wonderful to have an accomplished seamstress in the house! I've sewn curtains in the past. I did actually make a skirt recently....with elastic and everything...haha! I don't see myself getting into clothes making too much...I get too paranoid if Life happens to it :D
Picking out teeny stitches? That stinks!
Both of the patterns look great, and yes we need photos when they are finished.
I've spent an hour or two this afternoon unpicking pinwheels. I forgot to check the orientation of the light and dark fabric, grrrr.
It's a pity the quilting wasn't any good as the quilt is gorgeous. Hope it doesn't take you forever to unpick it. It didn't take me as long as I thought it would to unpick the fmq on the circles of doom :P. I'm becoming very proficient at unpicking.
I'm sure the clothes will turn out beautifully. We DO want modelled pics when they're done !
How awesomely fabulous the Baby is home. (waving at your gorgeous girl )
There is seriously nothing worse than unsewing...
Beautiful quilt. Lucky Baby. :-) Hope you have better luck with your patterns than I've had with my last one.
Can't wait to see them when you are done. They are going to look great. The quilt is gorgeous!
I hate picking out my own stitches so bad, I can't imagine picking out someone else's. Love the tops you're planning. I want to do some sewing for the kid, but she won't pick a pattern...still into tshirts and jeans. So, I'll keep sewing for us until she changes her mind. Lane
